Asheville- May 2011

Last weekend we headed up to Asheville for the annual Chad K. Haynes Memorial Golf Tournament with all of the Turners and lots of other family friends. The golf tournament was on Friday and it was another great turnout to raise money for the endowment fund that was set up in Chad's memory to help provide financial assistance for a student to attend NCState. Reilly and Braxton couldn't wait to get out on the course with Daddy and had a blast riding in the golf cart with Aunt Kelly!

On Saturday morning, Shawn, his dad and Uncle Stan all got up to run a 5k race that started just outside of the Hilton where we were all staying. This was the inaugural year of the race and there were 1400 runners registered!!!!

nothing like a live band at 8:15 in the morning to get ya going!

Shawn said it was one of the hardest courses he has ever run!!! He drove me on the course later that day and I couldn't believe how intense the hills were. I am so proud of him though!! Despite all of that, he finished 17 OVERALL and 3rd in his age group!!!!! You still got "it" babe!!
And then the kids and daddy took a little dip in the freezing cold pool/super hot hot-tub...

We hit a jackpot with this one!! O.P Taylors is this awesome, huge, nothing-like-it toy store right in the same complex as the Hilton as well. Holy moly we could have stayed in there for HOURS and could have spent HUNDREDS!! It is the coolest ever and we will definitely be making a trip back when it's time to buy some Christmas presents this year!!

And we finished up the weekend at Dave and Denise's house for a get together. Reilly LOVED the swing in their front yard :) The kids played, the adults ate, and then we all gathered to watch the Kentucky Derby after all bets were placed!
